Institutional Purchases


UCit has negotiated special pricing for University of Cincinnati faculty and staff who order Dell computer for work use. Discounts on average should be in the range of 8%.

P-Card Advantage:

UCit and Dell have developed an easy way for departments to make purchases online, and at the same time reduce the time it takes to receive the product, and minimize the cost associated with initiating and paying for those purchases.

If you plan to order products from Dell using your department's Purchasing Card you must first create a Buyer's profile to activate the Premier Page's online ordering feature. However, if you already have an existing profile established you must disable the cookies feature within your browser to create a new profile. To create your Buyers profile or need assistance with cookie disabling, please connect to the following web sites.

If you do not have a P-Card and will require a PO to place a departmental order then please follow the instructions below to create a Shopper's profile.

Please note: It's not necessary to create a Shopper's profile if you have already established a Buyer's profile

To browse through the UC special pricing Dell product line or to create an E-quote to place an order for a computer:

1. Access the Dell Web site from the UCit home page.
2. From the first Dell Premier page, click on Register with Premier Dell.com and Create a Dell Shopper Personal Profile.
3. User Name = UC   Password = UC
4. First time users will create a new Dell Personal Profile by providing your name, e-mail and a new personal password that is unique to you.
Future visits will "remember" you and use this profile.
5. From the left margin menu, select Purchasing Tools and then click on Your Dell Store. (If prompted to display the nonsecure items, select Yes.)
A. Find the computer you decided on in Special Offers and click .
B. Or click Full Catalog which offers a wider range of selections.
6. Scroll down to review and customize your order. Click  for a price that includes your customizations. You can try a variety of customizations, click  to view the price of each customization. When you are finished making your customization choices click  for a final price quote total.
7. Click .
8. Click .
9. Print the price quote and attach it to a UC Purchase Request (RX) form.
10. Process the RX according to your departments’ procedures.
 

Dell will deliver your computer to the address entered on your purchase order.

Installation: Contact the UC Help Desk at 556-4357, to schedule a technician to install your new computer(s). Installation is billed at $45.00 per hour and a typical installation requires 1-3 hours.

Need to order more than 1 of the same computer?


1. Click . View a summary of your order.
2. Scroll down to the item and change Quantity from 1 to the number of computers needed.
3. Click .
4. Click  and receive an updated price quote.
5. Print the order and attach to UC RX form.
 

Save your E-quote will save a record of your order on the Dell site for future referencing.

3. Complete name, e-mail, telephone number, equote name (a name that is meaningful to you) and description information. (Enter brief identification info in Description, this field is viewed when you retrieve your E-quote and makes it easy to identify the order).
4. Click .
5. Confirm information. Completing “Send this E-quote to your Buyer” is optional. You may want to complete this information with you business managers or managers information. They will receive e-mail confirmation of your price quote and a reference number to view your quote.
6. Click .
7. You will receive an e-mail confirming your E-quote.
8. To retrieve E-quote return to the Dell Home Store and click Retrieve E-quote.
9. From the Orderform Views click  to access the complete list of your order.
